I found early morning runs a lot better too as it certainly wakes you up for the day. Otherwise, there are a couple of running clubs in Reading - Reading Roadrunners being one of them. And there's one that meets outside the Sweatshop at 6.30pm every…

I'm self-employed and work really weird hours, so I put runs in the diary at any time of day that fits the work that day and stick to it. So sometimes it's first thing in the morning, and sometimes it's evenings etc. More often than not it's 6pm ish…

I should do exactly the same Janet. You're absolutely right, women running on their own is not the safest thing to do. I always choose the paths next to roads which are farely used. It's not the best, as you get to breathe in some CO2 emissions, but…

Justin, I've been wondering how you got on in the Paris Marathon - glad you came back onto the blog to let us know. Re the pedometer map reference you've just given me, I'm going to look at it now - many thanks. The benefit of driving a route in my…

Thank you Janet and Justin. I'm happy to have some tips and advice on how to improve my running skills. Now, I am defenately looking forward to run for Race for Life. I have indeed improved my running skills, as now I have just pushed myself to do…

Hey Juliet I couldn't agree with Janet more! As I read your original post, I was thinking exactly the same as Janet suggests. Race for Life is the way forward... Something to aim for whilst at the same time raising a few spare pennies for a fantast…

Hi there, I'm a beginner and I started a month and a half ago with running. I'm doing 2-3 times a week of running. Now I'm a bit embarassed to say how long I run for....anyway, I run for 15 min. I feel like I'm slowly giving in and I'm starting to loose motivation, bit by bit.
I don't know what to do. I do love running, I like the feel of it, but I feel like I'm not getting anywhere.
What shall I do?
